Specialty Course
Become a night diver to witness the magic of what happens to the underwater world at night
Ever been on a dive during the day and watched the marine life while wondering “what happens to you at night?” The thought of going for a dive in the dark can be strange. However the Night Diver Specialty course offers a unique opportunity to witness marine life’s nocturnal behaviour.
If you are 12 years old and a PADI Open Water Diver or higher you can enrol in the Night Diver Specialty course.
What will you learn:
- How to handle your light and use it for communication
- Entry, navigation and exit whilst being in the dark
- Identifying plants and marine animals nocturnal behaviour
During the course you will focus on what’s visible in your light’s beam, controlling your buoyancy with less visual references and close buddy contact. You will also perform the vital safety checks usually done before a day dive, while making sure you pay extra attention to detail so nothing is overlooked.
How many dives will you do:
You will complete three scuba dives from our boat or shore.
What equipment will you use:
Apart from using basic scuba equipment, you will use a dive torch and compass. You will also refer to the course Crew-Pak which includes a manual and video. Studying these before your course will prepare you to witness the magic of what happens underwater at night.
