padi Sidemount DIver
Specialty Course
More flexibility and better streamlining, the Sidemount Diver Specialty gives you more options!
Having your tank on your back is not the only way to explore the underwater world. Many divers have now discovered that being a sidemount diver gives you more flexibility and easier streamlining options. This is also one of the first steps in becoming a technical diver.
If you are at least 15 years old and a PADI Open Water Diver or higher you can enrol in the Sidemount Diver Specialty course.
What will you learn:
- Properly assemble and configure sidemount scuba diving equipment
- Trim your weight system and sidemount gear so you are perfectly balanced in the water
- Manage gas by switching second stages as planned and respond correctly to potential problems
You will learn that there are many benefits of diving with a sidemount configuration, one of them is having the option to not walk around with heavy tanks on your back, you can just enter the water and clip the tanks on.
How many dives will you do:
You will complete one confined dive in our pool and three scuba dives from our boat or shore.
What equipment will you use:
You will want to use your own equipment as much as possible but you will be using a mask, fins, snorkel and exposure suit. You will also use two independent tanks each with their own regulator set and a sidemount wing.

- Sidemount manual
- Certification
